San Clemente Events and Festivals

San Clemente or the ‘Spanish Village by the Sea’ has a lot to offer for its locals and visitors! All throughout the year, there are San Clemente events and festivals you can enjoy. Check out this year’s list of events and festivals you should look forward to.

FEBRUARY

• San Clemente Day

  Since 1928, San Clemente has been growing and growing. This 2018, they’ll celebrate their 90th anniversary as San Clemente Day. To honor the history and traditions of the city, visitors can view the open houses. There are also discounts on city facilities on that day including a free swim at the Ole Hanson Beach Club.

• Easter Eggstravaganza

  This is the time of the year where you go egg hunting! It’s the greatest egg-hunting event in San Clemente that you shouldn’t miss. You get to have fun with Little Bo Peep and her herds of sheep and the usual Easter events. Taste the delicious food. Take pictures of the colorful egg hunting setting, face painting, and other fun activities!
• San Clemente Micro-Brew Fest
  What happens on this day?
  The San Clemente Micro-Brew Fest is pure fun and entertainment at its best. This event will feature Southern California’s Micro-Brews. A live band will make the event more entertaining!

MAY

• Cinco de Mayo

  The Cinco de Mayo celebration is a favorite event in San Clemente. It celebrates the culture of Mexico. The best part of this event is that the admission is free! You can enjoy the many events on this day like Mariachis, Ballet Folkloric, Aztec Dancer, and live bands! There may also be car display, children’s games, and annual art competition.

JUNE

• Spring Garden Tour
  What happens on this day?
  The Spring Garden Tour is a one-day event that happens every year in San Clemente. It’ll be a self-guided tour of five gardens in San Clemente. The Garden Club members and community have the privilege to tour the showplace gardens. These gardens offer different yet beautiful landscape designs and plants. Proceeds from this garden tour event go to the scholarship and civic beautification projects.
• San Clemente Car Show
  Location: Avenida Del Mar, San Clemente, CAWhat happens on this day?
  If you’re a fan of cars, you’ll be waiting for this event! The Downtown Business Association hosts this annual San Clemente Car Show. Parking and admission are free. You’ll enjoy watching over 300 car displays with entertainment and good food to complement the event.

JULY

• San Clemente Fireworks Show

  To join the celebration of the US Independence Day, San Clemente holds a fireworks show every 4th of July. It’s an annual tradition. The city’s night sky will be filled with beautiful and magical fireworks. Its Fireworks display is usually takes place at the Municipal Pier.
• San Clemente Ocean Festival

  The San Clemente Ocean Festival is the biggest beach event in the city. There are lots of fun-filled activities for everyone of all ages. Athletic events may include 5k beach run, Dory boat races, and a one-mile ocean swim. There are also family activities for those who’ll bring the entire gang to the festival! Kids can enjoy the Kid’s Dolphin Dash and fishing derby. There’s also a sand sculpting contest, ocean art show, and a free concert.

• San Clemente Street Fair and Fiesta Music Festival

  The San Clemente Fiesta Music Festival is made possible by the San Clemente Chamber of Commerce and other event sponsors. This festival is for the whole family and anyone who wishes to visit San Clemente to experience the festival.The street festival will have food booths and lots of games. You can enjoy music throughout the day as three stages offer live entertainment to everybody. You can hop from one music genre to another as several musicians take the stage to perform.here’s also a Salsa Challenge that makes the event flaming hot! Enjoy swaying with the beat of Mariachi music while loving the aroma of chili peppers. Expect art exhibits, car shows, business exposition, and more!
• Summer Beach Concert Series

  Enjoy music from different performers as you sit on the sand. Plus, the view of the sunset slowly creeping out the horizon will make these beach concerts even more fantastic. The shows will support music education and local artists as well.
• San Clemente Annual Fine Art and Craft Fair

  The San Clemente Annual Fine Art and Craft Fair is an event for those who love art and various crafts. This event is free to the public. The art and craft show is established by the San Clemente Art Association (SCAA). You get the chance to enjoy an exhibition of different original arts and crafts.

OCTOBER

• San Clemente Seafest

  San Clemente Sea Fest is another event made possible by the San Clemente Chamber of Commerce. The highlight of this event is the ‘Chowder Cook-off.’ This competition allows restaurants, citizens, and anyone to compete who cooks the best-tasting chowder in San Clemente.Visitors flock to San Clemente at this time of the year to taste delicious and unique chowder variation. The ‘Best Tasting Chowder’ is announced later that day after the public tasting.Aside from the competition, there is fresh seafood by the Fisherman’s Restaurant and Bar. Business owners flock to the business exposition to promote their businesses. For those who love to surf, there’s a surf contest in this event. Surfers of any age can join the competition.

NOVEMBER

• A Taste of San Clemente

  A Taste of San Clemente is an annual event in San Clemente. Everyone who attends the event will get the chance to taste different wines from vineyards and sampling of Microbrews. The event is held under the stars with several restaurants serve their culinary masterpieces. No matter what you prefer in food, you’re sure to find it in this event.The event will also feature a ‘Silent Auction’ with amazing baskets and gifts. There may be a dress code for the event.
• Puttin’ on the Glitz

  The Puttin’ on the Glitz event in San Clemente is presented by the San Clemente Downtown Business Association. This event is an honored tradition. You can bring your whole family, especially kids, to celebrate the event. Puttin’ on the Glitz is an evening filled with holiday spirit and enchantment.There’s a live entertainment and of course, Santa! San Clemente’s jolly Saint Old Nick is available for photos and some good time with the kids. The city’s downtown area will close late to help you catch up on your holiday list. This event is the best way to kick-start the holiday season with joy!

DECEMBER

• Christmas Gift Program
  Date: DecemberWhat happens on this day?
  It’s the most beautiful time of the year! The family Assistance Ministries will bring Christmas joy by giving gifts to the children in need of the community. Free lunch is served for the children as well. You can also participate on this event by volunteering or donating gifts.
